Pivac

Already a long time ago, in 1952, in the small town of Vrgorac in the hinterland of Dalmatia, the Pivac family started a small business based on the tradition of processing and drying meat. Today, Pivac is a leader in the domestic market, with an annual production of almost 300,000 cuts of prosciutto, of which more than 50,000 are geographically protected Dalmatian prosciutto. We are also the leading producer of Dalmatian pancetta and Dalmatian cured pork loin.
The Pivac ham-curing plant is the largest and most modern, not only in Croatia, but also in all of Southeast Europe.
As part of the Pivac Brothers Meat Industry, there is the Karlovac Business Unit, which focuses on fresh meat packaged using the MAP method, durable and semi-durable sausages and salamis, and meat products. The crackling production plant in Karlovac is the most modern and among the largest such facilities in the whole of the EU. The tradition of the Karlovac Business Unit dates back to the end of the 19th century. In 1963, the company PPK Karlovac Meat Industry was formally founded, and, upon joining the Pivac system in 2003, experienced significant development and positioning within the sector. The next step in development was the merger with the parent company, which took place in 2025, with the aim of further improving internal business processes and procedures within the group.
