Homemade lard
Once upon a time it was indispensable in all households, then it was unjustifiably stigmatised and thrown away, only to be raised on the gastronomical throne again. Lard has returned to the kitchens and the very top of the gastronomical ladder of desirable foodstuffs a few years ago. Just as our ancestors couldn’t imagine life without a jar of lard which they used to prepare, can or conserve food, so the gastronomical experts of today can’t imagine a proper diet without quality fats, among which lard is included.
